Cancellation Policy

A 50-minute time slot has been reserved especially for you. A late cancelled appointment is a loss to three people:

  • The client who is delaying their therapy progress;
  • Another client who has been sitting on the waiting list to see the psychologist urgently
  • The psychologist who spent the morning preparing for the session

What if I need to cancel on the day of the appointment?

If you contact us to let us know you can’t attend, we will do our best to get someone from the waiting list to take your session over, no matter when you cancel. If we can do this, you won’t be charged. The Practice Manager will review cancellations to determine if the fee can be waived, some things are just unavoidable such as a sick child and reception staff will let you know the outcome.

Failure to give a minimum of 24 hours notice of a cancellation will result in a cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of your session being charged. This fee is not covered by Medicare / TAC / WorkCover / Third Parties and applies to both Gap Fee and Concession Card Holders. During your initial consultation, you will be asked to either pay a deposit or provide credit card details which will be used to cover the cost of the cancellation fee.

Please contact us as soon as possible if for some reason, you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Cancellations may be made by calling our office, by phone (02) 6332 1833 or email admin@distinctdirections.com.au. Please include your full name and appointment time.
